This application page is for programs located ONLY at Emory University Hospital Midtown. Please read all the application instructions prior to submitting your application.  

Applications for the upcoming residency year will only be accepted via PhORCAS.  For more information, please visit the PhORCAS Information Page.

***Failure to follow instructions will result in the candidates application not being reviewed***

The following instructions apply to all applicants to Emory Healthcare PGY1 and PGY2 programs unless otherwise noted.  All applicants must be enrolled in the ASHP matching program.  All application materials are due in PhORCAS by the posted deadline.  The application will not be considered complete until all required information is received.  Please submit the following via PhORCAS:

  1. Complete PhORCAS application
  2. Transcripts
  3. Curriculum Vitae
    1. Please be sure to include schools and universities attended, degrees conferred or anticipated, employment history, honors and awards, rotation experiences, research or teaching experiences, extracurricular activities, and other pertinent information
  4. Cover letter
    1. Address to program director
    2. Please include the following information in your letter
      1. Reasons for pursuing residency training
      2. Why you are interested in the Emory program you are applying for
      3. Short and long-term goals
  5. Three (3) Recommendations
    1. At least 1 of the 3 recommendations must be from a clerkship preceptor (or residency preceptor for PGY2).  We ask that reference writers comment on at least 50% of the narrative sections in PhORCAS.
  6. Supplemental Application
    1. Only for Emory University Hospital Midtown PGY1 residency program.
    2. Applicants applying to the Specialty or Management residency programs at Emory University Hospital Midtown do not need to fill out a supplemental

All Emory residency sites agree that no person at these sites will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.
